Independence
Bikwale accepts no payment for reviews, rankings or placement in any list. Manufacturers and dealers do not see content before publication and cannot request changes to opinion. Press rides and loan bikes, when accepted, are disclosed in the review.
Sources
- Specifications: the manufacturer's official Indian model page, linked from each review, cross-checked against the printed brochure where available.
- Ex-showroom prices: manufacturer price lists for Delhi, re-checked monthly. The month is shown on every price.
- On-road estimates: state transport department road-tax schedules, IRDAI long-term third-party premium tables, and typical registration and smart-card charges. Labelled as estimates everywhere they appear.
- Fuel and electricity prices: city retail petrol prices and domestic tariffs, updated with the date shown.
- Real-world mileage and range: our own riding plus owner reports. Given as a band, never a single number.
Ratings
Five sub-scores and one overall score out of ten, all set by the reviewer named on the page after riding the bike and pricing it against rivals. The overall score is not an average. Scores are revisited when a bike is updated, repriced or when rivals move the goalposts.
Generated text
Sections that compare prices, mileage, running costs and features across bikes are produced from our structured data so that they stay correct when a number changes. They are reviewed by the editor before publication and are separate from the review, which is written by hand. If a generated sentence is misleading in a particular case, we fix the rule that produced it.
Advertising and referrals
Ads sit in marked slots and never inside review text. Dealer enquiry forms and finance or insurance links may earn a referral fee; the form says so. Revenue by model is not visible to reviewers.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected as soon as verified, with the updated date changed. Substantive changes to an opinion are noted in the review. Write to corrections at the site domain.
