Triumph Street Triple R

The Street Triple R comes in a single variant at ₹11,16,300 ex-showroom Delhi, so there is no trim ladder to climb: every Street Triple R leaves the showroom with the same equipment.

That makes it priced 98th lowest among the 137 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Scrambler Icon (₹29,314 less) and the CB750 Hornet (₹67,300 less).

On the road in Delhi the base Street Triple R comes to ₹12.53 Lakh: ₹11,16,300 ex-showroom, ₹97,304 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.7%), ₹39,380 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Street Triple R's claimed mileage is 19 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 18–20 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 114 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 89th for mileage, 14 kmpl below the group average of 33 kmpl.

The 765cc liquid-cooled engine makes 118.4 bhp and 80 Nm through a 6 Speed. With a kerb weight of 168 kg that is 705 bhp per tonne, 19th best power-to-weight of the 135 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

Peak power is high relative to torque, so this engine rewards revs: it feels ordinary below the mid-range and comes alive above it.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch and traction control, with a disc, 310 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 220 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

The 826 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

On safety kit the Street Triple R has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

Against Street Triple RS, Street Triple RX or CB750 Hornet, it gets rear monoshock and usb charging port that most rivals skip.

It is offered in 3 colours: Phantom Black, Matt Baja Orange and Pure White. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.

Triumph runs a limited sales and service network in India, at roughly 150 touchpoints. Check the nearest workshop before buying if you live outside a metro; a 40 km ride for every service adds up.

The Street Triple R launched in 2023, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
