Price and variants
Ex-showroom Delhi. On-road estimate for Delhi; other cities on the price page.
The FZ-Rave comes in a single variant at ₹1,25,642 ex-showroom Delhi, so there is no trim ladder to climb: every FZ-Rave leaves the showroom with the same equipment.
That makes it priced 18th lowest among the 75 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the FZ Blue Flex (₹460 more) and the FZ X (₹896 more).
On the road in Delhi, budget about ₹1.43 Lakh for the base variant once 8% Delhi road tax, registration and five-year third-party insurance are added. Dealers often quote higher by bundling accessories, extended warranty and handling charges; all three are negotiable.
| Variant | Ex-showroom | Rough EMI |
|---|---|---|
Standard | ₹1,25,642 |
Mileage
FZ-Rave's claimed mileage is 50 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 47–52 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.
Among the 67 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 15th for mileage, 8 kmpl above the group average of 42 kmpl.
Engine and ride
The 149cc air-cooled engine makes 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm through a 5 Speed. With a kerb weight of 136 kg that is 90 bhp per tonne, 65th best power-to-weight of the 73 bikes in this class we have reviewed.
The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.
Chassis hardware includes single-channel ABS, with a disc, 282 mm up front and disc, 220 mm at the rear.
At 790 mm the seat is average for the class; most riders from 5'5" up will be comfortable at stops.

Verdict
The FZ-Rave shares its underlying architecture with the FZ Blue Flex but keeps the full 12.2bhp output and adds 165mm of ground clearance, starting at ₹1.26 lakh. It positions itself as an FZ variant built for slightly rougher roads without paying for the Hybrid's TFT extras.
Riding it every day
The extra ground clearance clears speed breakers and potholes with more margin than some rivals, useful on the patchier roads found outside major Indian cities. Claimed 50kmpl efficiency translates to 47-52kmpl in real-world riding, in line with other 149cc FZ variants. At 136kg kerb weight, it remains easy to manage at low speeds and in tight parking situations, and the projector LED headlamp aids visibility on unlit stretches at night. The 5-speed gearbox shifts smoothly enough for daily stop-start traffic, without feeling like a compromise next to the pricier variants.
What to know before buying
No Bluetooth or TFT display is offered on the FZ-Rave, keeping the feature set basic despite the styling differentiation. Only two colours are available, a narrower choice than the mainstream FZS V4. Priced close to the FZS V4, which adds traction control and a wider colour range for similar money, buyers should compare the two directly before choosing.
Who should buy it
Riders who specifically want the FZ-Rave's particular styling and extra ground clearance for rougher commutes will find it suits their needs. Most buyers chasing outright value or extra features are better served by the FZS V4 at a similar price point.
Features and colours
- Single-channel ABS
- Front disc brake
- Rear disc brake
- Tubeless tyres
- Alloy wheels
- Side-stand engine cut-off
- LED headlamp
- Projector headlamp
- LED daytime running lamp
- Digital console
- +1 more
On safety kit the FZ-Rave has single-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres and side-stand engine cut-off. ABS acts on the front wheel only; the rear can still lock under a hard stamp.
Against FZ Blue Flex, Pulsar 180 or FZS V4, it gets projector headlamp that most rivals skip.
What it lacks: led tail lamp and bluetooth connectivity, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.
It is offered in 2 colours: Metallic Black and Matte Titan. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.
Warranty, service and ownership
Standard warranty is 2 years or 30,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 3,000 km.
Yamaha runs a sizeable sales and service network in India, at roughly 2,500 touchpoints. Spares and a mechanic who knows the model are rarely far away.
The FZ-Rave launched in 2025, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
