Price and variants
Ex-showroom Delhi. On-road estimate for Delhi; other cities on the price page.
There is only one FZ V3 to buy, priced at ₹1,16,358 ex-showroom in Delhi. The only decisions left are colour and whether to finance it.
That makes it priced 13th lowest among the 75 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Apache RTR 160 4V (₹133 more) and the CB 125 Hornet (₹1,046 less).
On the road in Delhi, budget about ₹1.33 Lakh for the base variant once 8% Delhi road tax, registration and five-year third-party insurance are added. Dealers often quote higher by bundling accessories, extended warranty and handling charges; all three are negotiable.
| Variant | Ex-showroom | Rough EMI |

Mileage
FZ V3's claimed mileage is 46 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 43–48 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.
Among the 67 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 20th for mileage, 4 kmpl above the group average of 42 kmpl.
Engine and ride
Power comes from a 149cc single producing 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm, paired with a 5 Speed. At 135 kg the power-to-weight figure is 90 bhp per tonne, which ranks 62 of 73 in its class here.
The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.
Chassis hardware includes a rear monoshock and single-channel ABS, with a disc, 282 mm, 2 piston caliper up front and disc, 220 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.
At 790 mm the seat is average for the class; most riders from 5'5" up will be comfortable at stops.

Verdict
The FZ V3 is the oldest model still on sale in Yamaha's FZ range, launched in 2019 and now the cheapest way into the lineup at ₹1.16 lakh. It runs the same 149cc, 12.2bhp engine as newer variants, just without traction control or the wider colour choice of the FZS V4.
Riding it every day
At 135kg kerb weight, it's easy to manage in city traffic and tight parking, and the 790mm seat height keeps it accessible for most riders. Real-world mileage of 43-48kmpl is a touch behind the newer FZS V4's 47-52kmpl, likely down to minor engine and mapping updates since 2019. The 7-step adjustable monoshock is retained, giving reasonable control over India's mix of smooth highways and rougher city streets.
What to know before buying
Without traction control, wet-weather acceleration needs a gentler hand than on the FZS V4, worth remembering during the monsoon. Only two colours are available, a narrower choice than the newer FZ variants. Yamaha's service network treats the FZ V3 the same as any current FZ model, so parts and servicing remain straightforward despite its age.
Who should buy it
Buyers who want the lowest possible entry price into the FZ range and don't mind giving up traction control will find the FZ V3 a sensible, no-frills choice. Those who ride often in the rain or want more colour options should stretch to the FZS V4 instead.
Features and colours
- Single-channel ABS
- Front disc brake
- Rear disc brake
- Tubeless tyres
- Alloy wheels
- Side-stand engine cut-off
- Hazard lamps
- Rear monoshock
- LED headlamp
- Digital console
- +1 more
On safety kit the FZ V3 has single-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. ABS acts on the front wheel only; the rear can still lock under a hard stamp.
What it lacks: led daytime running lamp and led tail lamp, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.
It is offered in 2 colours: Matte Cyan and Metallic Black. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.
Warranty, service and ownership
Standard warranty is 2 years or 30,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 3,000 km.
Service reach is good: Yamaha has about 2,500 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country.
On sale since 2019, the FZ V3 is established enough that early production issues have been worked through and used examples give a fair read on resale.

- In dry conditions it makes little difference, but expect less confidence accelerating hard on wet or loose surfaces without it during the monsoon.
