Kawasaki Z1100

There is only one Z1100 to buy, priced at ₹12,79,000 ex-showroom in Delhi. The only decisions left are colour and whether to finance it.

That makes it priced 101th lowest among the 137 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Scrambler 1200 (₹14,900 less) and the Ninja ZX-6R (₹30,052 less).

On the road in Delhi the base Z1100 comes to ₹14.32 Lakh: ₹12,79,000 ex-showroom, ₹1,10,320 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.6%), ₹42,807 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Z1100's claimed mileage is 18.5 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 17–19 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 114 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 95th for mileage, 15 kmpl below the group average of 33 kmpl.

Power comes from a 1099cc single producing 134.1 bhp and 113 Nm, paired with a 6 Speed. At 221 kg the power-to-weight figure is 607 bhp per tonne, which ranks 24 of 135 in its class here.

Peak power is high relative to torque, so this engine rewards revs: it feels ordinary below the mid-range and comes alive above it.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch and traction control, with a disc, 310 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 260 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

The 815 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

On safety kit the Z1100 has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

Against Monster, 890 Duke R or Street Triple RS, it gets usb charging port that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: rear monoshock, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.

Service reach is the weak point: Kawasaki has about 60 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country. Confirm there is one within reach before you sign.

The Z1100 launched in 2025, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
