The Z900 comes in a single variant at ₹9,99,000 ex-showroom Delhi, so there is no trim ladder to climb: every Z900 leaves the showroom with the same equipment.

That makes it priced 95th lowest among the 137 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the GSX-8R (₹10,449 less) and the Daytona 660 (₹10,600 less).

On the road in Delhi the base Z900 comes to ₹11.24 Lakh: ₹9,99,000 ex-showroom, ₹87,920 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.8%), ₹36,910 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Z900's claimed mileage is 21 kmpl. Owners and our own riding put the real figure between 19 and 21 kmpl, roughly 5% under the brochure number, which is typical once traffic, a pillion and short trips are factored in.

Among the 114 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 80th for mileage, 12 kmpl below the group average of 33 kmpl.

The 948cc liquid-cooled engine makes 123.6 bhp and 98.6 Nm through a 6 Speed. With a kerb weight of 212 kg that is 583 bhp per tonne, 27th best power-to-weight of the 135 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

Peak power is high relative to torque, so this engine rewards revs: it feels ordinary below the mid-range and comes alive above it.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, single-channel ABS, a slipper clutch and traction control, with a disc, 300 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 250 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

The 830 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

On safety kit the Z900 has single-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. ABS acts on the front wheel only; the rear can still lock under a hard stamp.

Against Street Triple RS, Ninja ZX-6R or Streetfighter V2, it gets single-channel abs and projector headlamp that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: dual-channel abs and rear monoshock, which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.

It is offered in 2 colours: Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray / Metallic Spark Black and Candy Lime Green / Metallic Carbon Gray. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 2 years or 30,000 km.

Kawasaki runs a limited sales and service network in India, at roughly 60 touchpoints. Check the nearest workshop before buying if you live outside a metro; a 40 km ride for every service adds up.

The Z900 launched in 2025, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
