That makes it priced 100th lowest among the 137 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Z1100 (₹14,900 more) and the Ninja ZX-6R (₹15,152 less).

On the road in Delhi the base Scrambler 1200 comes to ₹14.16 Lakh: ₹12,64,100 ex-showroom, ₹1,09,128 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.6%), ₹42,493 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

The 1200cc liquid-cooled engine makes 89 bhp and 110 Nm through a 6 Speed. With a kerb weight of 228 kg that is 390 bhp per tonne, 42th best power-to-weight of the 135 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

Torque is high relative to peak power, which is what you want for pulling away with a pillion and riding a gear higher in traffic rather than chasing the redline.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch and traction control, with a disc, 310 mm, 2 piston caliper up front and disc, 255 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

The 820 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

On safety kit the Scrambler 1200 has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

Against Scrambler Icon, Scrambler Full Throttle or Scrambler Nightshift, it gets bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: alloy wheels, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.

It is offered in 3 colours: Carnival Red, Ash Grey and Sapphire Black. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.

Triumph runs a limited sales and service network in India, at roughly 150 touchpoints. Check the nearest workshop before buying if you live outside a metro; a 40 km ride for every service adds up.

The Scrambler 1200 launched in 2024, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
