Hero MotoCorp Super Splendor Xtec 2.0
A modest update over the Xtec, priced for the small gains it brings
In short
The Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 updates the same 124.7cc engine with a claimed 75 kmpl, a standard front disc brake and an engine kill switch, priced from ₹85,925. It is genuinely more efficient than the outgoing Super Splendor Xtec, but the roughly ₹2,000 premium buys marginal gains rather than a clear leap forward.

Mileage
Super Splendor Xtec 2.0's claimed mileage is 75 kmpl. Owners and our own riding put the real figure between 56 and 62 kmpl, roughly 21% under the brochure number, which is typical once traffic, a pillion and short trips are factored in.
Among the 67 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 2nd for mileage, 33 kmpl above the group average of 42 kmpl.
Engine and ride
The 125cc air-cooled engine makes 10.7 bhp and 10.6 Nm through a 5 Speed. With a kerb weight of 122 kg that is 88 bhp per tonne, 68th best power-to-weight of the 73 bikes in this class we have reviewed.
The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.
At 788 mm the seat is average for the class; most riders from 5'5" up will be comfortable at stops.

Verdict
The Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 is an incremental update rather than a reinvention: the same 124.7cc engine now claims 75 kmpl, up from the outgoing bike's 69 kmpl, and gets a standard front disc brake and an engine kill switch. At ₹85,925 to start, it costs a little more than the model it replaces for those specific gains.
Riding it every day
Power delivery feels much like the previous Super Splendor Xtec, with 10.7 bhp giving confident acceleration for a 125cc commuter and enough top-end for highway overtakes. The front disc brake is a welcome addition, giving noticeably more reassuring stopping power than the drum-braked version, even though the rear stays a drum. Claimed efficiency of 75 kmpl typically works out to 56-62 kmpl in mixed riding, a genuine, if modest, improvement over its predecessor.
What to know before buying
The price premium over the outgoing Super Splendor Xtec is real, and buyers should weigh whether the efficiency gain and standard disc brake justify it in their specific city, especially since resale markets may not yet fully distinguish between the two generations.
Who should buy it
This suits a buyer replacing an older commuter who wants Hero's most efficient 125cc engine along with a standard front disc brake. Anyone who can find the outgoing Super Splendor Xtec at a meaningfully lower price should weigh whether the small efficiency gain here is worth paying extra for.

Warranty, service and ownership
Standard warranty is 5 years or 70,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 6,000 km.
Hero MotoCorp runs one of the largest sales and service network in India, at roughly 9,000 touchpoints. Spares and a mechanic who knows the model are rarely far away.
The Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 launched in 2026, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
