Certified vs real range

The Xplor is rated at 70 km (certified IDC range). Treat that as a ceiling: real-world figures are usually 15–25% lower.

Among the 89 electric scooters we have reviewed it ranks 83th for range, 51 km below the group average of 121 km.

Charging at home in Delhi at about ₹7.5/unit, a 1.152 kWh pack costs roughly ₹10 to fill and works out to about ₹0.14 per km. Riding 30 km a day, that is around ₹106 a month, a fraction of what a petrol scooter costs to run.

Why the gap exists: electric scooter range explained.

Spread over five years and 46,800 km, the Xplor works out to about ₹1.4 per km all-in, of which 10% is electricity and 71% is the purchase price itself. Resale value is not counted; a nameplate this established holds value well.

Getting the most range

Riding mode decides range on the Xplor more than anything else. The fastest mode can cost a third of the pack against Eco, and holding 60 km/h or more drains it quickly because air resistance grows with the square of speed.

A full charge takes about 8 hours from a home socket, so a nightly top-up covers a normal day; charge to 80% for daily use and only fill to 100% before a long ride, which slows battery ageing.

Cold mornings, a heavy pillion and under-inflated tyres each trim range. Budget for roughly 70% of the certified figure until you have measured your own.
