Ex-showroom Delhi, the S1000RR range runs from ₹23,75,000 (Standard) to ₹30,85,000 (M Sport) across 3 variants.

That makes it priced 126th lowest among the 137 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the R 12 nine T (₹75,029 less) and the 1390 Super Duke R (₹79,200 less).

On the road in Delhi the base S1000RR comes to ₹26.67 Lakh: ₹23,75,000 ex-showroom, ₹2,02,000 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.5%), ₹65,893 for first-year insurance and ₹23,750 in tcs 1%. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

S1000RR's claimed mileage is 16 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 16–17 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 114 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 104th for mileage, 17 kmpl below the group average of 33 kmpl.

Power comes from a 999cc single producing 206.51 bhp and 113 Nm, paired with a 6 Speed. At 197 kg the power-to-weight figure is 1048 bhp per tonne, which ranks 6 of 135 in its class here.

Peak power is high relative to torque, so this engine rewards revs: it feels ordinary below the mid-range and comes alive above it.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, single-channel ABS and traction control, with a disc, 320 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 220 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

The 824 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

On safety kit the S1000RR has single-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. ABS acts on the front wheel only; the rear can still lock under a hard stamp.

Against Ninja ZX-10R, CBR1000RR-R Fireblade or S 1000 R, it gets keyless start that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: usb charging port, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.

It is offered in 3 colours: Sport, Blackstorm Metallic and Light white/M Motorsport. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 3 years, unlimited km.

Service reach is the weak point: BMW Motorrad has about 40 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country. Confirm there is one within reach before you sign.

The S1000RR launched in 2025, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
