That makes it priced 46th lowest among the 53 cruisers we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the R 12 (₹96,514 less) and the Street Bob (₹2,73,480 less).

On the road in Delhi the base Fat Bob comes to ₹25.8 Lakh: ₹22,96,641 ex-showroom, ₹1,95,731 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.5%), ₹64,243 for first-year insurance and ₹22,966 in tcs 1%. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Fat Bob's claimed mileage is 18 kmpl. Owners and our own riding put the real figure between 16 and 18 kmpl, roughly 6% under the brochure number, which is typical once traffic, a pillion and short trips are factored in.

Among the 40 cruisers we have reviewed it ranks 31th for mileage, 7 kmpl below the group average of 25 kmpl.

The 1868cc air-cooled engine makes 92.5 bhp and 155 Nm through a 6 Speed. With a kerb weight of 306 kg that is 302 bhp per tonne, 21th best power-to-weight of the 51 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

Torque is high relative to peak power, which is what you want for pulling away with a pillion and riding a gear higher in traffic rather than chasing the redline.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS and traction control, with a disc, 300 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 292 mm, 2 piston caliper at the rear.

Seat height is a low 710 mm, so riders around 5'2" and above can plant both feet at a stop.

On safety kit the Fat Bob has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control and hazard lamps. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

Against Fat Boy, Heritage Classic or Sportster S, it gets usd front forks and ride modes that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: side-stand engine cut-off and slipper clutch, which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.

Harley-Davidson runs a limited sales and service network in India, at roughly 60 touchpoints. Check the nearest workshop before buying if you live outside a metro; a 40 km ride for every service adds up.

The Fat Bob launched in 2023, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
