On the road in Delhi the base X440 comes to ₹2.76 Lakh: ₹2,35,000 ex-showroom, ₹20,300 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.6%), ₹20,817 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Expect 31–34 kmpl from the X440 in everyday use against a claimed mileage of 35 kmpl. The 7% gap is smaller than most rivals manage.

Among the 40 cruisers we have reviewed it ranks 6th for mileage, 10 kmpl above the group average of 25 kmpl.

Power comes from a 440cc single producing 27 bhp and 38 Nm, paired with a 6 Speed. At 190.5 kg the power-to-weight figure is 142 bhp per tonne, which ranks 42 of 51 in its class here.

Torque is high relative to peak power, which is what you want for pulling away with a pillion and riding a gear higher in traffic rather than chasing the redline.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch, with a disc, 320 mm, 2 piston caliper up front and disc, 240 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

At 805 mm the seat is average for the class; most riders from 5'5" up will be comfortable at stops.

On safety kit the X440 has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

Against X440T, Rebel 300 or Guerrilla 450, it gets hazard lamps, usd front forks and projector headlamp that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: traction control, bluetooth connectivity, ride modes and turn-by-turn navigation, which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.

Standard warranty is 5 years or 70,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 5,000 km.

Service reach is the weak point: Harley-Davidson has about 60 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country. Confirm there is one within reach before you sign.

The X440 launched in 2023, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
