The Evolet Pony is not trying to be a motorcycle. It is a licence-free electric runabout built for short, low-speed trips, and on that narrow brief it does reasonably well: a 90km claimed range and removable battery undercut most rivals near its ₹55,799 price, and a front disc brake with E-ABS is a genuine safety plus for the segment.
Riding it every day
With a 25kmph top speed, the Pony belongs inside gated communities, college campuses and short local errands, not on arterial roads where autos and buses will consistently outrun it. The 76kg kerb weight and 180mm ground clearance make it easy to manoeuvre through gates and over speed breakers, and the removable battery means charging does not require a fixed parking spot with a socket. Cruise control and OTA updates feel like features borrowed from a bigger vehicle and mostly go unused at these speeds.
What to know before buying
Check the 800mm seat height against your own inseam before paying; it is tall for a vehicle this small and can make stops feel awkward for shorter riders. Confirm with your local RTO whether a licence or registration is genuinely unnecessary for a 25kmph vehicle in your state, since enforcement varies. With a single colour and one variant, there is little to configure.
