In short

The Karizma XMR is Hero's performance flagship, a 210cc liquid-cooled single with 25.15 bhp, dual-channel ABS and USD forks, priced from ₹1.87 lakh. It is the most powerful and best-equipped bike here by far, but a claimed 35 kmpl and a price above several 250cc rivals mean the trade-offs are efficiency and value.

Best for: Weekend performance riding, Riders upgrading from a 160cc bike

Price and variants

Ex-showroom Delhi. On-road estimate for Delhi; other cities on the price page.

The Karizma XMR is sold in 2 variants, from ₹1,86,651 for the Top to ₹1,88,257 for the Combat Edition, ex-showroom Delhi.

That makes it priced 46th lowest among the 75 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Dominar 250 (₹174 more) and the Pulsar NS400Z (₹501 less).

On the road in Delhi, budget about ₹2.13 Lakh for the base variant once 8% Delhi road tax, registration and five-year third-party insurance are added. Dealers often quote higher by bundling accessories, extended warranty and handling charges; all three are negotiable.

Mileage

Karizma XMR's claimed mileage is 35 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 33–36 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 67 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 48th for mileage, 7 kmpl below the group average of 42 kmpl.

Engine and ride

The 210cc liquid-cooled engine makes 25.15 bhp and 20.4 Nm through a 6 Speed. With a kerb weight of 163.5 kg that is 154 bhp per tonne, 27th best power-to-weight of the 73 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

Peak power is high relative to torque, so this engine rewards revs: it feels ordinary below the mid-range and comes alive above it.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch, with a disc, 300 mm, 2 piston caliper up front and disc, 230 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

The 810 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

Verdict

The Karizma XMR is Hero stepping into serious performance-bike territory, with a liquid-cooled 210cc engine, USD forks and a colour TFT dash that would not look out of place on a bike costing more. At ₹1.87 lakh onward, it undercuts several 250cc rivals while offering broadly similar equipment, though it gives up some outright power to a few of them.

Riding it every day

The 25.15 bhp motor pulls strongly through the mid-range and has a genuine top-end rush up to its claimed 130 kmph, helped by a slipper clutch that makes aggressive downshifts smoother. In city traffic, the firmer suspension and slightly forward-leaning stance are noticeable over rough patches and speed breakers, though the dual-channel ABS and strong 300 mm front disc inspire confidence when braking hard. Claimed efficiency of 35 kmpl typically drops to 33-36 kmpl in real riding, which is on the thirsty side for a 210cc single.

What to know before buying

The Karizma XMR is priced close to several 250cc twins and singles from rival brands, some of which offer more outright power, so it is worth comparing on a spec sheet before deciding purely on brand loyalty. The service network for a performance-focused Hero model may also be thinner than for its commuter range in smaller towns.

Who should buy it

This suits a rider who wants a genuinely quick, well-equipped bike without stepping up to a 250cc-plus twin, and who values features like ride modes and navigation. Buyers chasing outright value or fuel economy should look elsewhere in Hero's own range.

  • Tubeless tyres
  • Alloy wheels
  • Side-stand engine cut-off

On safety kit the Karizma XMR has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

Against Pulsar RS 200, 200 Duke or Gixxer 250, it gets usd front forks, slipper clutch, projector headlamp and led daytime running lamp that most rivals skip.

It is offered in 4 colours: Matte Phantom Black, Turbo Red, Iconic Yellow and Combat Edition. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Warranty, service and ownership

Standard warranty is 5 years or 70,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 6,000 km.

Hero MotoCorp runs one of the largest sales and service network in India, at roughly 9,000 touchpoints. Spares and a mechanic who knows the model are rarely far away.

The Karizma XMR launched in 2023, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.

Karizma XMR: questions people ask

What is the price of the Hero MotoCorp Karizma XMR?
The Karizma XMR costs between ₹1,86,651 and ₹1,88,257 ex-showroom Delhi across 2 variants, as of September 2026. On-road price adds road tax, registration and insurance and varies by state.
What is the on-road price of the Karizma XMR in Delhi?
Roughly ₹2.13 Lakh for the base variant in Delhi: ₹1,86,651 ex-showroom plus ₹14,932 road tax, ₹1,100 registration and about ₹10,725 insurance. This is an estimate; dealer quotes include handling and accessories.
What is the mileage of the Karizma XMR?
Claimed mileage is 35 kmpl. Owners typically see 33–36 kmpl in mixed city and highway riding.
How much does the Karizma XMR cost to run per month?
Fuel works out to about ₹2.75 per km in Delhi, so a 30 km daily commute costs roughly ₹2,143 a month before servicing.
What is the EMI for the Karizma XMR?
With 10% down, a 36-month loan at 9.5% on the base variant comes to about ₹5,920 a month. A shorter tenure raises the EMI but cuts total interest; see the EMI calculator on the price page.
What is the engine capacity and power of the Karizma XMR?

Is the Karizma XMR suitable for short riders?
It is on the tall side at 810 mm. Riders under 5'6" may be on tiptoe at stops and should try it before buying.
Karizma XMR or Pulsar RS 200: which is better?
The Pulsar RS 200 is ₹5,788 less expensive to start and less efficient at 35 kmpl against 35 kmpl. Pick the Karizma XMR for weekend performance riding, the Pulsar RS 200 for faired sports bike enthusiasts. Our side-by-side comparison covers every spec.
Which bikes are cheaper than the Karizma XMR?
Among the 75 sports bikes we have reviewed, the Pulsar 125 (₹93,507), the MT-15 V2 (₹1.68 Lakh), the Pulsar NS 200 (₹1.39 Lakh) start lower.
Is the Karizma XMR too tall or firm for a shorter rider?
At 810 mm the seat height is on the taller side, and the riding position leans slightly forward for a sportier feel. Riders under 5'5" may find tip-toeing at a standstill necessary, so a test sit is worth doing before buying.
Can it handle two-up highway touring comfortably?
It carries a pillion reasonably well thanks to the monoshock and disc brakes at both ends, but the firmer sports-oriented suspension and 20.4 Nm of torque mean it feels most at home solo or with light luggage. Long two-up highway runs are doable but not its primary strength.
