Price and variants
Ex-showroom Delhi. On-road estimate for Delhi; other cities on the price page.
The Splendor Plus Xtec is sold in 3 variants, from ₹81,360 for the Drum Brake - OBD 2B to ₹84,370 for the Disc Brake - OBD 2B, ex-showroom Delhi.
That makes it priced 12th lowest among the 21 commuter bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Livo (₹329 less) and the Shine 125 (₹640 more).
On the road in Delhi, budget about ₹94,300 for the base variant once 8% Delhi road tax, registration and five-year third-party insurance are added. Dealers often quote higher by bundling accessories, extended warranty and handling charges; all three are negotiable.
| Variant | Ex-showroom | Rough EMI |
|---|---|---|
Drum Brake - OBD 2B | ₹81,360 | |
2.0 - Drum Brake - OBD 2B | ₹83,349 | |
Disc Brake - OBD 2B | ₹84,370 |
Mileage
Splendor Plus Xtec's claimed mileage is 73 kmpl. Owners and our own riding put the real figure between 60 and 68 kmpl, roughly 12% under the brochure number, which is typical once traffic, a pillion and short trips are factored in.
Among the 21 commuter bikes we have reviewed it ranks 3rd for mileage, 8 kmpl above the group average of 65 kmpl.
Engine and ride
The 97cc air-cooled engine makes 7.9 bhp and 8.05 Nm through a 4 Speed. With a kerb weight of 112 kg that is 71 bhp per tonne, 17th best power-to-weight of the 21 bikes in this class we have reviewed.
The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.
Seat height is a low 785 mm, so riders around 5'2" and above can plant both feet at a stop.

Verdict
The Splendor Plus Xtec takes Hero's best-selling nameplate and adds just enough tech, bluetooth connectivity, a digital console and idle start-stop, to feel current without disturbing what made the original popular. Priced from ₹81,360, it claims 73kmpl, the strongest efficiency figure among the bikes covered here.
Riding it every day
The 97.2cc engine's 7.9bhp is modest, but it is tuned for smooth, unstressed city riding rather than outright speed, and the 112kg kerb weight keeps it easy to manage in traffic. Real-world mileage in the 60-68kmpl range is a genuine highlight for daily commuting on a tight fuel budget. The 5-step adjustable rear suspension is a small but useful touch on Indian roads, helping smooth out potholes and uneven patches better than a fixed setup.
What to know before buying
All three variants list drum brakes at both ends per the available data, so confirm the front disc fitment with your dealer if that matters to you before assuming it is standard on any trim. The 6,000km service interval is longer than some rivals, which should mean fewer visits overall but potentially larger bills each time.
Who should buy it
This is the bike for buyers who value fuel economy and Hero's dealer network above outright performance or premium braking. It suits daily commuters covering long distances on a budget, while riders wanting more power or standard disc brakes should consider the Passion Plus or a 125cc option instead.
Features and colours
- Tubeless tyres
- Alloy wheels
- Side-stand engine cut-off
- Hazard lamps
- LED daytime running lamp
- Digital console
- Bluetooth connectivity
- USB charging port
- Idle start-stop
- Engine kill switch
On safety kit the Splendor Plus Xtec has tubeless tyres, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps.
Against Livo, Splendor Plus Flex Fuel or Splendor Plus, it gets led daytime running lamp, bluetooth connectivity, usb charging port and idle start-stop that most rivals skip.
What it lacks: combi-brake (cbs), which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.
It is offered in 9 colours: Nobel Red, Matte Grey, Black Heavy Grey, Red Black, Black Tornado Grey, Black Sparking Blue, Black Tornado Grey Disc, Red Black Disc and Black Sparking Blue Disc. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.
Warranty, service and ownership
Standard warranty is 5 years or 70,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 6,000 km.
Hero MotoCorp runs one of the largest sales and service network in India, at roughly 9,000 touchpoints. Spares and a mechanic who knows the model are rarely far away.
On sale since 2022, the Splendor Plus Xtec is established enough that early production issues have been worked through and used examples give a fair read on resale.
