Certified vs real range

The OXO is rated at 140 km (certified IDC range). Treat that as a ceiling: real-world figures are usually 15–25% lower.

Among the 21 electric bikes we have reviewed it ranks 17th for range, 31 km below the group average of 171 km.

Charging at home in Delhi at about ₹7.5/unit, a 3.75 kWh pack costs roughly ₹31 to fill and works out to about ₹0.22 per km. Riding 30 km a day, that is around ₹172 a month, a fraction of what a petrol scooter costs to run.

Why the gap exists: electric scooter range explained.

Spread over five years and 46,800 km, the OXO works out to about ₹3.5 per km all-in, of which 6% is electricity and 84% is the purchase price itself. Resale value is not counted; expect roughly 50–60% of ex-showroom after five years for a well-kept example.

Getting the most range

On the OXO, treat the mode selector as a range dial: the top mode trades roughly a third of the range for speed, and sustained runs above 60 km/h are where the pack empties fastest.

Regenerative braking helps most in stop-start traffic, so leave it on its strongest setting for the commute; it earns back a few kilometres a day and saves the brake pads.

A full charge takes about 5 hours from a home socket, so a nightly top-up covers a normal day; charge to 80% for daily use and only fill to 100% before a long ride, which slows battery ageing.

Cold mornings, a heavy pillion and under-inflated tyres each trim range. Budget for roughly 70% of the certified figure until you have measured your own.

OXO range: questions people ask

What is the real range of the OXO?
The certified range is 140 km. Expect 65–75% of that in everyday riding.
How much does the OXO cost to run per month?
Charging works out to about ₹0.22 per km in Delhi, so a 30 km daily commute costs roughly ₹172 a month before servicing.
How long does the OXO take to charge?
About 5 hours for a full charge from a home socket.
Does the claimed 140km range hold up in real conditions?
Claimed range figures from any EV maker tend to be measured in ideal conditions, so expect noticeably less in stop-start traffic, with a pillion, or with a heavy throttle hand; budget for meaningfully less than 140km on a typical commute. Charging habits and battery age will also affect real-world range over time.
