Okinawa i-Praise range and running cost

The i-Praise is rated at 139 km (certified IDC range). Treat that as a ceiling: real-world figures are usually 15–25% lower.

Among the 88 electric scooters we have reviewed it ranks 27th for range, 17 km above the group average of 122 km.

Charging at home in Delhi at about ₹7.5/unit, a 3.3 kWh pack costs roughly ₹27 to fill and works out to about ₹0.20 per km. Riding 30 km a day, that is around ₹153 a month, a fraction of what a petrol scooter costs to run.

Spread over five years and 46,800 km, the i-Praise works out to about ₹3.3 per km all-in, of which 6% is electricity and 84% is the purchase price itself. Resale value is not counted; expect roughly 50–60% of ex-showroom after five years for a well-kept example.

On the i-Praise, treat the mode selector as a range dial: the top mode trades roughly a third of the range for speed, and sustained runs above 60 km/h are where the pack empties fastest.

Regenerative braking helps most in stop-start traffic, so leave it on its strongest setting for the commute; it earns back a few kilometres a day and saves the brake pads.

Because the battery is removable, charge it indoors at room temperature where you can. A pack that sits in the sun or a cold stairwell loses a little range before you set off.

Cold mornings, a heavy pillion and under-inflated tyres each trim range. Budget for roughly 70% of the certified figure until you have measured your own.
