Okinawa OKHI-90 range and running cost

The OKHI-90 is rated at 160 km (certified IDC range). Treat that as a ceiling: real-world figures are usually 15–25% lower.

Charging at home in Delhi at about ₹7.5/unit, a 3.6 kWh pack costs roughly ₹30 to fill and works out to about ₹0.19 per km. Riding 30 km a day, that is around ₹145 a month, a fraction of what a petrol scooter costs to run.

Spread over five years and 46,800 km, the OKHI-90 works out to about ₹4.3 per km all-in, of which 4% is electricity and 86% is the purchase price itself. Resale value is not counted; expect roughly 50–60% of ex-showroom after five years for a well-kept example.

Riding mode decides range on the OKHI-90 more than anything else. The fastest mode can cost a third of the pack against Eco, and holding 60 km/h or more drains it quickly because air resistance grows with the square of speed.

Regenerative braking helps most in stop-start traffic, so leave it on its strongest setting for the commute; it earns back a few kilometres a day and saves the brake pads.

Because the battery is removable, charge it indoors at room temperature where you can. A pack that sits in the sun or a cold stairwell loses a little range before you set off.

Cold mornings, a heavy pillion and under-inflated tyres each trim range. Budget for roughly 70% of the certified figure until you have measured your own.
