Verdict

The Roadster X trades the standard Roadster's disc brakes for scrambler styling and stronger torque, and whether that is a fair swap depends on how much you ride in the wet. At a similar starting price to the regular Roadster, it carves out its own identity with 180mm ground clearance and a lower seat, aimed at riders who want a different look more than outright braking performance.

Riding it every day

The 58Nm of torque is genuinely strong for this price band, making it feel quick off the line even at 127kg. The 777mm seat height and 180mm ground clearance are a useful combination for shorter riders navigating speed breakers and broken city roads without scraping or struggling to reach the ground. The drum brakes at both ends, however, are the one area where the Roadster X clearly gives up ground to the standard Roadster, particularly in monsoon conditions.

What to know before buying

Real-world range of 133-140km lines up well with the claimed 140km, so daily range planning should be reasonably reliable. The absence of a TFT console, replaced by a simpler digital display, is a visible way costs were kept down versus the standard Roadster.
