Price and variants

Ex-showroom Delhi. On-road estimate for Delhi; other cities on the price page.

The FZ S Hybrid comes in a single variant at ₹1,41,760 ex-showroom Delhi, so there is no trim ladder to climb: every FZ S Hybrid leaves the showroom with the same equipment.

That makes it priced 30th lowest among the 75 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Gixxer SF (₹1,512 more) and the Pulsar 220F (₹2,074 less).

On the road in Delhi, budget about ₹1.61 Lakh for the base variant once 8% Delhi road tax, registration and five-year third-party insurance are added. Dealers often quote higher by bundling accessories, extended warranty and handling charges; all three are negotiable.

Mileage

FZ S Hybrid's claimed mileage is 60 kmpl. Owners and our own riding put the real figure between 49 and 55 kmpl, roughly 13% under the brochure number, which is typical once traffic, a pillion and short trips are factored in.

Among the 67 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 9th for mileage, 18 kmpl above the group average of 42 kmpl.

Engine and ride

The 149cc air-cooled engine makes 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm through a 5 Speed. With a kerb weight of 136 kg that is 90 bhp per tonne, 64th best power-to-weight of the 73 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.

Chassis hardware includes a rear monoshock, single-channel ABS and traction control, with a disc, 282 mm, 2 piston caliper up front and disc, 220 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

At 790 mm the seat is average for the class; most riders from 5'5" up will be comfortable at stops.

Verdict

The FZ S Hybrid is the most heavily equipped bike in Yamaha's FZ family, adding a colour TFT display, turn-by-turn navigation and traction control to the familiar 149cc, 12.2bhp platform, starting at ₹1.42 lakh. It's a meaningful step up in features over the base FZS V4, if you're willing to pay for it.

Riding it every day

The 7-step adjustable monoshock lets you firm up or soften the rear for load or road conditions, useful given how variable Indian road surfaces can be within a single ride. Traction control adds confidence on wet or gravel-strewn city roads during the monsoon. Claimed 60kmpl efficiency holds up reasonably in real-world riding at 49-55kmpl, and the dual-piston front caliper bites with more feel than the single-piston setup on cheaper FZ variants.

What to know before buying

Yamaha's widespread service network makes ownership straightforward, and the TFT display's turn-by-turn navigation pairs with a phone app, though it needs a data connection to work reliably. At 136kg, the FZ S Hybrid is easy to manage in city traffic and multi-storey parking. The ₹1.42 lakh price is a real premium over the mechanically similar FZS V4, so the extra features need to matter to you.

Who should buy it

Riders who want the FZ's muscular street-fighter stance along with modern connected features, and don't mind paying for them, will get the most value here. Buyers on a tighter budget who don't need the TFT screen are better served by the cheaper FZS V4.

Features and colours

  • Single-channel ABS
  • Front disc brake
  • Rear disc brake
  • Tubeless tyres
  • Alloy wheels
  • Traction control
  • Side-stand engine cut-off
  • Hazard lamps
  • Rear monoshock
  • LED headlamp
  • +8 more

On safety kit the FZ S Hybrid has single-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. ABS acts on the front wheel only; the rear can still lock under a hard stamp.

Against FZ X Hybrid, FZS V4 or Pulsar NS 200, it gets colour tft console and idle start-stop that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: usb charging port, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.

It is offered in 4 colours: ICE Strom, Matte Black, Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Warranty, service and ownership

Standard warranty is 2 years or 30,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 3,000 km.

Yamaha runs a sizeable sales and service network in India, at roughly 2,500 touchpoints. Spares and a mechanic who knows the model are rarely far away.

The FZ S Hybrid launched in 2025, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.

FZ S Hybrid: questions people ask

What is the price of the Yamaha FZ S Hybrid?
The FZ S Hybrid is priced at ₹1,41,760 ex-showroom Delhi in its single variant, as of September 2026. On-road price adds road tax, registration and insurance.
What is the on-road price of the FZ S Hybrid in Delhi?
Roughly ₹1.61 Lakh for the base variant in Delhi: ₹1,41,760 ex-showroom plus ₹11,341 road tax, ₹1,100 registration and about ₹6,401 insurance. This is an estimate; dealer quotes include handling and accessories.
What is the mileage of the FZ S Hybrid?
Claimed mileage is 60 kmpl. Owners typically see 49–55 kmpl in mixed city and highway riding.
How much does the FZ S Hybrid cost to run per month?
Fuel works out to about ₹1.82 per km in Delhi, so a 30 km daily commute costs roughly ₹1,422 a month before servicing.
What is the EMI for the FZ S Hybrid?
With 10% down, a 36-month loan at 9.5% on the base variant comes to about ₹4,500 a month. A shorter tenure raises the EMI but cuts total interest; see the EMI calculator on the price page.
What is the engine capacity and power of the FZ S Hybrid?
It uses a 149cc engine producing 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm, with a 5 speed.
Is the FZ S Hybrid suitable for short riders?
Yes. Seat height is 790 mm, low for the class, so riders around 5'2" and above can reach the ground comfortably.
FZ S Hybrid or FZ X Hybrid: which is better?
The FZ X Hybrid is ₹4,207 more expensive to start and less efficient at 51 kmpl against 60 kmpl. Pick the FZ S Hybrid for tech-focused commuters, the FZ X Hybrid for feature-focused buyers. Our side-by-side comparison covers every spec.
Which bikes are cheaper than the FZ S Hybrid?
Among the 75 sports bikes we have reviewed, the Pulsar 125 (₹93,507), the Pulsar NS 200 (₹1.39 Lakh), the Apache RTR 160 (₹1.11 Lakh) start lower.
Is the extra cost over the FZS V4 worth it for the TFT and traction control?
If you ride in the rain often or value the navigation and connected app, the traction control and TFT justify the premium; if you just want the FZ look, the cheaper V4 does the same job mechanically.
Can the FZ S Hybrid handle two-up highway rides comfortably?
The 136kg kerb weight and monoshock rear cope fine with a pillion at moderate highway speeds, but the 12.2bhp engine will feel stretched overtaking two-up on inclines.
