Certified vs real range

The Drift is rated at 60 km (certified IDC range). Treat that as a ceiling: real-world figures are usually 15–25% lower.

Among the 88 electric scooters we have reviewed it ranks 83th for range, 62 km below the group average of 122 km.

Charging at home in Delhi at about ₹7.5/unit, a 0.6 kWh pack costs roughly ₹5 to fill and works out to about ₹0.08 per km. Riding 30 km a day, that is around ₹64 a month, a fraction of what a petrol scooter costs to run.

Why the gap exists: electric scooter range explained.

Monthly running cost by city

Spread over five years and 46,800 km, the Drift works out to about ₹1.9 per km all-in, of which 4% is electricity and 80% is the purchase price itself. Resale value is not counted; expect roughly 50–60% of ex-showroom after five years for a well-kept example.

Getting the most range

Riding mode decides range on the Drift more than anything else. The fastest mode can cost a third of the pack against Eco, and holding 60 km/h or more drains it quickly because air resistance grows with the square of speed.

A full charge takes about 8 hours from a home socket, so a nightly top-up covers a normal day; charge to 80% for daily use and only fill to 100% before a long ride, which slows battery ageing.

Cold mornings, a heavy pillion and under-inflated tyres each trim range. Budget for roughly 70% of the certified figure until you have measured your own.

The certified range is 60 km. Expect 65–75% of that in everyday riding.
How much does the Drift cost to run per month?
Charging works out to about ₹0.08 per km in Delhi, so a 30 km daily commute costs roughly ₹64 a month before servicing.
How long does the Drift take to charge?
About 8 hours for a full charge from a home socket.
How often will I need to charge the Drift?
With a claimed 60km range and an 8-hour charge time, expect to plug it in most nights if you're using it daily, and plan trips around that rather than the range of a full-sized electric or petrol scooter.
