In short
The Hypermotard 950 pairs a 937cc Testastretta V-twin making 112.6bhp with tall supermoto-styled ergonomics and an 870mm seat, priced from ₹17.10 lakh for the RVE trim. At 200kg it is nimble for its power output, but the firm suspension and upright stance make it more suited to backroads than long, comfortable highway stints.

Mileage
The Hypermotard 950 is rated at 19.6 kmpl (claimed mileage). Treat that as a ceiling: real-world figures are usually 15–25% lower.
Engine and ride
Power comes from a 937cc single producing 112.6 bhp and 96 Nm, paired with a 6 Speed. At 200 kg the power-to-weight figure is 563 bhp per tonne, which ranks 29 of 146 in its class here.
The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.
Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch and traction control, with a disc, 320 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 245 mm, 2 piston caliper at the rear.
The 870 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

Verdict
The Hypermotard 950 is Ducati's V-twin supermoto, using a 937cc engine making 112.6bhp in a 200kg chassis built for flicking between corners rather than eating highway miles. Starting at ₹17.10 lakh for the RVE trim, it sits as a style-forward alternative to more conventional naked bikes.
Riding it every day
Its 215mm ground clearance shrugs off speed breakers and broken city roads with ease, and the light-feeling chassis makes filtering through traffic straightforward despite the tall stance. The firm Marzocchi and Sachs suspension, tuned for backroad composure, transmits more of the road surface than a commuter-focused bike would, and the 870mm seat height means shorter riders will need to plan stops carefully.
What to know before buying
The SP variant adds suspension and cosmetic upgrades for a real price jump to over ₹20 lakh, so decide whether the base RVE's specification is enough before paying extra. Claimed mileage of 19.6kmpl is on the thirstier side for this segment, and service intervals on the V-twin engine include valve checks that add to running costs versus a typical naked bike.
Who should buy it
This suits a rider who wants a distinctive-looking machine for weekend backroad or hill riding and does not mind a firm ride in exchange for handling and ground clearance. It is not the right choice for someone prioritising highway comfort, pillion ease or fuel efficiency, where a Multistrada V2 or similar adventure-tourer would serve better.
Features
- Dual-channel ABS
- Front disc brake
- Rear disc brake
- Tubeless tyres
- Alloy wheels
- Traction control
- Side-stand engine cut-off
- Hazard lamps
- USD front forks
- Rear monoshock
- +11 more
On safety kit the Hypermotard 950 has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.
Against Panigale V2, Hypermotard 698 Mono or RS 660, it gets usd front forks that most rivals skip.
What it lacks: projector headlamp, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.
It is offered in 3 colours: Graffiti Evo, Graffiti and SP Livery. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.
Warranty, service and ownership
Standard warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.
Service reach is the weak point: Ducati has about 15 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country. Confirm there is one within reach before you sign.
On sale since 2021, the Hypermotard 950 is established enough that early production issues have been worked through and used examples give a fair read on resale.

- At 870mm, yes, it is tall for shorter riders, and the narrow seat-to-tank junction helps a little but does not fully offset the height; a test sit is worth doing before committing.
