Simple Energy One S

There is only one One S to buy, priced at ₹1,61,320 ex-showroom in Delhi. The only decisions left are colour and whether to finance it.

That makes it priced 44th lowest among the 56 electric scooters we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Indie (₹8,720 less) and the EC 06 (₹10,693 more).

On the road in Delhi the base One S comes to ₹1.71 Lakh: ₹1,59,999 ex-showroom, ₹750 in Delhi road tax and registration (0.5%), ₹7,221 for first-year insurance and ₹2,999 in other charges. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Expect 139–159 km from the One S in everyday use against a certified IDC range of 190 km. The 22% gap is about average for the class.

Among the 56 electric scooters we have reviewed it ranks 6th for range, 53 km above the group average of 137 km.

The One S's 6.5 kW motor is the 18rd most powerful among the 48 electric scooters here and takes it to a top speed of 90 km/h, comfortable for city and arterial roads.

A full charge from a home socket takes about 5.54 hours, and it supports fast charging for a quicker top-up on the road. The battery is fixed, so you need a plug where the scooter parks.

Chassis hardware includes a rear monoshock and a combi-brake system, with a disc up front and disc at the rear.

Seat height is a low 780 mm, so riders around 5'2" and above can plant both feet at a stop.

On safety kit the One S has combi-brake (cbs), front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. There is no ABS, which is legal at this engine size but worth knowing before a wet-weather ride.

Against One, 450X or Indie, it gets rear monoshock and keyless start that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: engine kill switch, which rivals at this price offer. None of these are deal-breakers, but they show where the money went.

It is offered in 3 colours: Grace White, Azure Blue and Brazen Black. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 8 years, unlimited km. The battery is covered separately for 3 years or 30,000 km; read the degradation clause, since most policies only replace a pack that drops below 70% capacity.

Service reach is the weak point: Simple Energy has about 30 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country. Confirm there is one within reach before you sign.

The One S launched in 2026, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
