That makes it priced 69th lowest among the 137 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Apache RR 310 (₹2,202 less) and the Thruxton 400 (₹10,344 more).

On the road in Delhi the base Scrambler 400 X comes to ₹3.01 Lakh: ₹2,64,978 ex-showroom, ₹22,698 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.6%), ₹13,441 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Scrambler 400 X's claimed mileage is 27 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 26–27 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 114 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 71th for mileage, 6 kmpl below the group average of 33 kmpl.

The 349cc liquid-cooled engine makes 36.49 bhp and 32 Nm through a 6 Speed. With a kerb weight of 185 kg that is 197 bhp per tonne, 73th best power-to-weight of the 135 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch and traction control, with a disc, 320 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 230 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

The 835 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

On safety kit the Scrambler 400 X has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control and side-stand engine cut-off. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

Equipment is closely matched with Scrambler 400 XC, Tracker 400 or Speed 400; the differences are in the riding, not the spec sheet.

It is offered in 4 colours: Phantom Black / Silver Ice, Pearl Metallic White / Phantom Black, Volcanic Red and Phantom Black and Matt Khaki Green / Fusion White. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.

Triumph runs a limited sales and service network in India, at roughly 150 touchpoints. Check the nearest workshop before buying if you live outside a metro; a 40 km ride for every service adds up.

The Scrambler 400 X launched in 2026, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
