Engine and ride
Power comes from a 249cc single producing 30.5 bhp and 25 Nm, paired with a 6 Speed. At 177 kg the power-to-weight figure is 172 bhp per tonne, which ranks 10 of 14 in its class here.
Peak power is high relative to torque, so this engine rewards revs: it feels ordinary below the mid-range and comes alive above it.
Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch, with a disc, 320 mm, 2 piston caliper up front and disc, 230 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.
The 825 mm seat is on the tall side. Riders under 5'6" should sit on one before buying.

Riding it every day
At 177kg with 227mm of ground clearance, it handles potholes and speed breakers with the confidence expected of an adventure bike, and the WP suspension keeps things composed on patchy city roads. Dual-channel ABS and a colour TFT dash are genuine wins at this price, features many similarly priced commuters skip entirely. The 30.5bhp engine is adequate for solo city and highway riding, though it asks for patience when overtaking two-up.
What to know before buying
Claimed mileage of 31kmpl, with real-world reports typically between 29 and 32kmpl, is respectable for the class. Rivals like the TVS Apache RTX 300 and Suzuki V-Strom SX offer more power at a lower price, so it is worth test riding both before deciding if KTM's badge and running gear justify the difference. It also lacks the traction control found on the pricier Adventure S and X, worth knowing if you ride in the rain.
Who should buy it
