In short

The Activa 125 is Honda's premium 125cc scooter, priced from ₹92,806 with a claimed 47kmpl and a colour TFT console rare in this segment. It costs more than the Suzuki Access 125 and Honda's own Dio 125 for similar efficiency, meaning its main appeal is Honda's brand trust and service reach rather than outright value.

Price and variants

Ex-showroom Delhi. On-road estimate for Delhi; other cities on the price page.

The Activa 125 is sold in 3 variants, from ₹92,806 for the 25-year Anniversary Edition to ₹98,890 for the H-Smart, ex-showroom Delhi.

That makes it priced 19th lowest among the 26 petrol scooters we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Avenis 125 (₹205 more) and the Dio 125 (₹1,450 more).

On the road in Delhi, budget about ₹1.07 Lakh for the base variant once 8% Delhi road tax, registration and five-year third-party insurance are added. Dealers often quote higher by bundling accessories, extended warranty and handling charges; all three are negotiable.

Mileage

Activa 125's claimed mileage is 47 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 44–49 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 25 scooters we have reviewed it ranks 18th for mileage, 2 kmpl below the group average of 49 kmpl.

Engine and ride

The 124cc air-cooled engine makes 8.3 bhp and 10.5 Nm through a CVT automatic. With a kerb weight of 107 kg that is 78 bhp per tonne, 13th best power-to-weight of the 25 scooters in this class we have reviewed.

Torque is high relative to peak power, which is what you want for pulling away with a pillion and riding a gear higher in traffic rather than chasing the redline.

Chassis hardware includes a combi-brake system, with a disc, 190 mm, 1 piston caliper up front and drum, 130 mm at the rear.

Seat height is a low 765 mm, so riders around 5'2" and above can plant both feet at a stop.

Verdict

The Activa 125 remains Honda's premium scooter offering in India, and its badge trust is really what buyers pay for. At ₹92,806 onward, it costs more than the Suzuki Access 125 and even Honda's own Dio 125, both of which post similar or better real-world efficiency. What it does bring is a colour TFT console and idle start-stop that many rivals in this price band skip.

Riding it every day

The CVT automatic gearbox makes stop-go traffic effortless, and the under-seat storage is genuinely useful for daily errands. At 107kg, it is light and easy to manoeuvre through narrow lanes and tight parking. The front disc brake gives reasonable stopping confidence, though the rear drum brake means wet-weather braking needs a cautious approach.

What to know before buying

Real-world mileage typically runs 44-49kmpl, respectable but not ahead of cheaper rivals like the Access 125, which claims similar figures for less money. There is no traditional ABS, only Honda's combi-braking system, so riders used to true ABS on two-wheelers should factor that in. Honda's service network is dense across India, which typically means quicker turnaround for scheduled maintenance.

Who should buy it

The Activa 125 suits a buyer who values Honda's brand trust, resale value and widespread service network over chasing the lowest price or best mileage figure in the 125cc scooter segment, and who wants a few extra features like the TFT console for daily use.

Features and colours

  • Combi-brake (CBS)
  • Front disc brake
  • Tubeless tyres
  • Alloy wheels
  • Side-stand engine cut-off
  • Hazard lamps
  • LED headlamp
  • LED daytime running lamp
  • LED tail lamp
  • Colour TFT console
  • +4 more

On safety kit the Activa 125 has combi-brake (cbs), front disc brake, tubeless tyres, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. There is no ABS, which is legal at this engine size but worth knowing before a wet-weather ride.

Against Access 125, Jupiter 125 or Dio 125, it gets led daytime running lamp and colour tft console that most rivals skip.

It is offered in 8 colours: Mat Axis Gray Metallic, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Siren Blue, Rebel Red Metallic, Mat Steel Black Metallic (Anniversary Edition) and Pearl Siren Blue (Anniversary Edition). Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Warranty, service and ownership

Standard warranty is 3 years or 36,000 km. After the free services, the recommended interval is every 6,000 km.

Honda runs one of the largest sales and service network in India, at roughly 6,000 touchpoints. Spares and a mechanic who knows the model are rarely far away.

On sale since 2018, the Activa 125 is established enough that early production issues have been worked through and used examples give a fair read on resale.

Activa 125: questions people ask

What is the on-road price of the Activa 125 in Delhi?
Roughly ₹1.07 Lakh for the base variant in Delhi: ₹92,806 ex-showroom plus ₹7,424 road tax, ₹1,100 registration and about ₹5,521 insurance. This is an estimate; dealer quotes include handling and accessories.
What is the mileage of the Activa 125?
Claimed mileage is 47 kmpl. Owners typically see 44–49 kmpl in mixed city and highway riding.
How much does the Activa 125 cost to run per month?
Fuel works out to about ₹2.04 per km in Delhi, so a 30 km daily commute costs roughly ₹1,590 a month before servicing.
What is the EMI for the Activa 125?
With 10% down, a 36-month loan at 9.5% on the base variant comes to about ₹2,940 a month. A shorter tenure raises the EMI but cuts total interest; see the EMI calculator on the price page.
What is the engine capacity and power of the Activa 125?
It uses a 124cc engine producing 8.3 bhp and 10.5 Nm, with a cvt automatic.
Is the Activa 125 suitable for short riders?

Activa 125 or Access 125: which is better?
The Access 125 is ₹8,077 less expensive to start and less efficient at 47 kmpl against 47 kmpl. Pick the Activa 125 for daily city commuting, the Access 125 for first scooter. Our side-by-side comparison covers every spec.
Which bikes are cheaper than the Activa 125?
Among the 26 scooters we have reviewed, the Activa 6G (₹80,000), the Jupiter 125 (₹80,000), the Ntorq 125 (₹90,558) start lower.
Is the Activa 125 comfortable for a 5'2" rider?
The 765mm seat height is on the accessible side for most Indian riders, and the flat floorboard and light 107kg kerb weight make it easy to manage at a standstill. Shorter riders typically find it easier to handle than taller-seated rivals like the Ntorq.
Can the Activa 125 take a pillion on the highway without struggling?
It can manage a pillion at moderate highway speeds, but with 8.3bhp it is not built for quick overtaking with two-up load. Expect a relaxed cruising pace to be more comfortable than aggressive highway riding.
