Odysse Hawk range and running cost

The Hawk is rated at 85 km (certified IDC range). Treat that as a ceiling: real-world figures are usually 15–25% lower.

Among the 88 electric scooters we have reviewed it ranks 71th for range, 37 km below the group average of 122 km.

Charging at home in Delhi at about ₹7.5/unit, a 1.44 kWh pack costs roughly ₹12 to fill and works out to about ₹0.14 per km. Riding 30 km a day, that is around ₹109 a month, a fraction of what a petrol scooter costs to run.

Spread over five years and 46,800 km, the Hawk works out to about ₹2.9 per km all-in, of which 5% is electricity and 84% is the purchase price itself. Resale value is not counted; expect roughly 50–60% of ex-showroom after five years for a well-kept example.

Riding mode decides range on the Hawk more than anything else. The fastest mode can cost a third of the pack against Eco, and holding 60 km/h or more drains it quickly because air resistance grows with the square of speed.

Because the battery is removable, charge it indoors at room temperature where you can. A pack that sits in the sun or a cold stairwell loses a little range before you set off.

Cold mornings, a heavy pillion and under-inflated tyres each trim range. Budget for roughly 70% of the certified figure until you have measured your own.
