Verdict
The Classic 650 takes Royal Enfield's most recognisable shape and drops in the 648cc twin from the Interceptor, priced from ₹3.68 lakh. It is the bike for buyers who love the Classic 350's look but want real highway performance, and it largely delivers, though the extra weight and firmer low-speed manners mean it is a different, more grown-up bike to live with.
Riding it every day
46.39bhp and 52.3Nm make overtaking trucks on two-lane highways genuinely easy, something the 350cc Classic cannot match. Around town the 243kg mass is noticeable at traffic lights and while threading through slow congestion, and the 154mm ground clearance means speed breakers need a careful approach. The TFT console with turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity is a real step up from the analogue-leaning smaller Classics, and the dual-channel ABS with twin discs gives confident braking in the monsoon.
What to know before buying
Real-world efficiency in the 24-27kmpl band is reasonable for a 650 twin but well below what a Classic 350 owner is used to, so factor in higher running costs. Service intervals of 5,000km are standard for the platform, and Royal Enfield's wide dealer network keeps parts and servicing straightforward even outside major cities.
