Aprilia Tuono 457

There is only one Tuono 457 to buy, priced at ₹4,06,198 ex-showroom in Delhi. The only decisions left are colour and whether to finance it.

That makes it priced 84th lowest among the 137 sports bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Crossfire 500 XC (₹7,198 less) and the 390 Adventure R (₹19,963 less).

On the road in Delhi the base Tuono 457 comes to ₹4.63 Lakh: ₹4,03,921 ex-showroom, ₹33,814 in Delhi road tax and registration (8.4%), ₹25,604 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Tuono 457's claimed mileage is 29 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 27–30 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 114 sports bikes we have reviewed it ranks 66th for mileage, 4 kmpl below the group average of 33 kmpl.

Power comes from a 457cc single producing 46.9 bhp and 43.5 Nm, paired with a 6 Speed. At 175 kg the power-to-weight figure is 268 bhp per tonne, which ranks 52 of 135 in its class here.

The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.

Chassis hardware includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock, single-channel ABS, a slipper clutch and traction control, with a disc, 320 mm, 4 piston caliper up front and disc, 220 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

At 800 mm the seat is average for the class; most riders from 5'5" up will be comfortable at stops.

On safety kit the Tuono 457 has single-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, traction control, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. ABS acts on the front wheel only; the rear can still lock under a hard stamp.

Against RS 457, Ninja 500 or RC 390, it gets single-channel abs, ride modes and usb charging port that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: dual-channel abs, which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.

It is offered in 2 colours: Puma Grey and Mamba Black. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.

Service reach is the weak point: Aprilia has about 150 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country. Confirm there is one within reach before you sign.

The Tuono 457 launched in 2025, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
