Aprilia SR 175

The SR 175 is sold in 3 variants, from ₹1,25,804 for the hp.e to ₹1,30,777 for the GP Replica, ex-showroom Delhi.

That makes it priced 24th lowest among the 34 petrol scooters we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the Mobster (₹4,196 more) and the 125 (₹6,874 more).

On the road in Delhi the base SR 175 comes to ₹1.47 Lakh: ₹1,24,969 ex-showroom, ₹11,498 in Delhi road tax and registration (9.2%), ₹10,177 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

SR 175's claimed mileage is 40 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 37–42 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Among the 30 scooters we have reviewed it ranks 27th for mileage, 7 kmpl below the group average of 47 kmpl.

The 175cc air-cooled engine makes 13.08 bhp and 14.14 Nm through a CVT automatic.

The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.

Chassis hardware includes a rear monoshock and single-channel ABS, with a disc up front and drum at the rear.

On safety kit the SR 175 has single-channel abs, front disc brake and side-stand engine cut-off. ABS acts on the front wheel only; the rear can still lock under a hard stamp.

Against Ntorq 150, Xoom 160 or Mobster, it gets rear monoshock that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: tubeless tyres, traction control, hazard lamps and projector headlamp, which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.

It is offered in 4 colours: Glossy Tech White, Matte Prismatic Dark, GP Replica Edition and Matte Green. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Standard warranty is 5 years or 60,000 km.

Aprilia runs a limited sales and service network in India, at roughly 150 touchpoints. Check the nearest workshop before buying if you live outside a metro; a 40 km ride for every service adds up.

The SR 175 launched in 2025, so long-term reliability and resale data are still thin. That is not a mark against it, just a reason to prefer the standard warranty and keep service records.
