In short

The SR125 is Keeway's 125cc commuter with a single-cylinder engine making 9.56 bhp, priced from ₹1.29 lakh, and it returns a real-world 44-49 kmpl. It brings a 300mm front disc and combi-braking rather than full ABS, a reasonable trade at this price but one that gives up the extra safety margin true dual-channel ABS offers in heavy traffic.

What works

  • Real-world mileage of 44-49 kmpl, near the claimed 47
  • 300mm front disc with a 3-piston caliper, unusual for a 125
  • 120kg kerb weight makes it easy for new riders to manage
  • 14.5-litre tank means fewer fuel stops on longer commutes

What doesn't

  • Combi-brake system, not true dual-channel ABS like the SR250
  • ₹1.29 lakh sits above the cheaper Xpulse 200T and SP160
  • No alloy wheels listed, unlike most rivals at this price

Best for: First-time riders, Daily short commutes, Fuel economy priority buyers

Price and variants

Ex-showroom Delhi list prices from the manufacturer. On-road for your city is in the panel above.

The SR125 comes in a single variant at ₹1,28,987 ex-showroom Delhi, so there is no trim ladder to climb: every SR125 leaves the showroom with the same equipment.

That makes it priced 25th lowest among the 26 commuter bikes we have reviewed. Its closest price rivals are the SP160 (₹11,128 less) and the Burgman Street 125 (₹22,892 less).

On the road in Delhi the base SR125 comes to ₹1.48 Lakh: ₹1,29,000 ex-showroom, ₹11,820 in Delhi road tax and registration (9.2%), ₹7,071 for first-year insurance. Dealers add handling and accessory packs on top; both are negotiable.

Mileage

SR125's claimed mileage is 47 kmpl, and unusually, owners and our own riding land right on it: expect 44–49 kmpl in everyday use. Few bikes get this close to their brochure figure.

Engine and ride

The 125cc air-cooled engine makes 9.56 bhp and 8.2 Nm through a 5 Speed. With a kerb weight of 120 kg that is 80 bhp per tonne, 11th best power-to-weight of the 26 bikes in this class we have reviewed.

The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.

Chassis hardware includes a combi-brake system, with a disc, 300 mm, 3 piston caliper up front and disc, 210 mm, 1 piston caliper at the rear.

Seat height is a low 780 mm, so riders around 5'2" and above can plant both feet at a stop.

Verdict

The SR125 is Keeway's entry-level commuter, built around a 125cc air-cooled single making 9.56 bhp and priced from ₹1.29 lakh ex-showroom. Its standout is a 300mm front disc with a 3-piston caliper, unusually strong braking hardware for the class, paired with a combi-brake system instead of full ABS.

Riding it every day

At 120kg the SR125 is light and easy to filter through Indian traffic, and the real-world mileage of 44-49 kmpl keeps fuel stops infrequent even on a daily commute. The 160mm ground clearance handles speed breakers without scraping, and the 14.5-litre tank means longer intervals between refills than most 125cc rivals. The combi-brake system links both wheels under braking, which helps new riders avoid lockups, though it lacks the finer control of true ABS.

What to know before buying

Check that the CBS system engages smoothly on both a wet and dry test ride, since combi-brake calibration varies between bikes and can feel abrupt on some units. Keeway's service network is smaller than mainstream 125cc rivals like Honda or Hero, so confirm parts availability at your nearest dealer before buying. The absence of alloy wheels in the spec sheet is worth double-checking in person, since it affects both looks and tyre replacement cost.

Who should buy it

This suits a first-time rider or someone wanting a straightforward, fuel-efficient daily commuter with stronger-than-usual front brakes for the class. Riders who specifically want dual-channel ABS should look at the sibling SR250 or a rival like the Honda SP160.

Features

  • Combi-brake (CBS)
  • Front disc brake
  • Rear disc brake
  • Tubeless tyres
  • Side-stand engine cut-off
  • Hazard lamps
  • LED tail lamp
  • Digital console
  • Engine kill switch

On safety kit the SR125 has combi-brake (cbs), front disc brake, rear disc brake, tubeless tyres, side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lamps. There is no ABS, which is legal at this engine size but worth knowing before a wet-weather ride.

Against SR250, SP160 or FZ X, it gets combi-brake (cbs) that most rivals skip.

What it lacks: led headlamp, usb charging port, single-channel abs and alloy wheels, which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.

It is offered in 3 colours: Glossy White, Glossy Black and Glossy Red. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Warranty, service and ownership

Standard warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.

Keeway runs a limited sales and service network in India, at roughly 40 touchpoints. Check the nearest workshop before buying if you live outside a metro; a 40 km ride for every service adds up.

On sale since 2022, the SR125 is established enough that early production issues have been worked through and used examples give a fair read on resale.

SR125: questions people ask

What is the price of the Keeway SR125?
The SR125 is priced at ₹1,28,987 ex-showroom Delhi in its single variant, as of September 2026. On-road price adds road tax, registration and insurance.
What is the on-road price of the SR125 in Delhi?
About ₹1.48 Lakh for the base variant in Delhi: ₹1,29,000 ex-showroom plus ₹11,820 in Delhi road tax and registration and ₹7,071 for first-year insurance. Figure from dealer quotes, updated monthly; handling and accessory packs can add more.
What is the mileage of the SR125?
Claimed mileage is 47 kmpl. Owners typically see 44–49 kmpl in mixed city and highway riding.
How much does the SR125 cost to run per month?
Fuel works out to about ₹2.04 per km in Delhi, so a 30 km daily commute costs roughly ₹1,590 a month before servicing.
What is the EMI for the SR125?
With 10% down, a 36-month loan at 9.5% on the base variant comes to about ₹4,090 a month. A shorter tenure raises the EMI but cuts total interest; see the EMI calculator on the price page.
What is the engine capacity and power of the SR125?
It uses a 125cc engine producing 9.56 bhp and 8.2 Nm, with a 5 speed.
Is the SR125 suitable for short riders?
Yes. Seat height is 780 mm, low for the class, so riders around 5'2" and above can reach the ground comfortably.
SR125 or SR250: which is better?
The SR250 is ₹29,998 more expensive to start and less efficient at 35.5 kmpl against 47 kmpl. Pick the SR125 for first-time riders, the SR250 for step-up commuters. Our side-by-side comparison covers every spec.
Which bikes are cheaper than the SR125?
Among the 26 commuter bikes we have reviewed, the Splendor Plus (₹75,500), the Shine 125 (₹82,000), the Raider 125 (₹87,000) start lower.
Is the SR125 safe enough in heavy traffic without full ABS?
The combi-brake system links front and rear braking to reduce lockup risk, which works reasonably well for a light 120kg bike at commuter speeds, but it is not the same as true dual-channel ABS. Riders who want that extra margin should look at the SR250 instead.
Can the SR125 handle daily 20-30km commutes without strain?
Yes, the 125cc single is built for exactly this kind of use, and the real-world 44-49 kmpl keeps running costs low over a typical monthly commute.
