Power comes from a 124cc single producing 9.3 bhp and 10.1 Nm, paired with a Automatic automatic. At 115 kg the power-to-weight figure is 81 bhp per tonne, which ranks 14 of 32 in its class here.

The torque and power figures are well balanced, so it neither needs to be revved hard nor feels lazy when you do.

Chassis hardware includes a combi-brake system, with a disc, 200 mm up front and drum, 140 mm at the rear.

Seat height is a low 770 mm, so riders around 5'2" and above can plant both feet at a stop.

On safety kit the S 125 has combi-brake (cbs), front disc brake, tubeless tyres and side-stand engine cut-off. There is no ABS, which is legal at this engine size but worth knowing before a wet-weather ride.
