In short

Sold in India from 2015 to 2020, the Eldorado was Moto Guzzi's classic-styled cruiser, built on the same 1380cc air/oil-cooled V-twin as the Audace but tuned slightly differently, with a last ex-showroom price of ₹23.2 lakh. It carried a heavier 314kg kerb weight, and among this trio of Guzzi cruisers it consistently scored as the weakest on features and value.

What works

  • 93.8bhp V-twin with 120Nm shared with the Audace
  • Classic chrome-heavy styling distinct from most cruiser rivals
  • Dual-channel ABS and disc brakes front and rear as standard

What doesn't

  • 314kg kerb weight with no mileage figure quoted
  • Fewer standard features than rivals like the Fat Bob
  • Priced close to the Audace and Chief Bobber Dark Horse without matching either on spec

Best for: Classic cruiser styling, Slow, relaxed boulevard rides

Last prices and variants

The last ex-showroom Delhi list prices before Moto Guzzi withdrew the model in 2020.

The Eldorado was sold in a single variant and last listed at ₹23,19,661 ex-showroom Delhi before it was withdrawn in 2020.

Against the 64 cruisers on sale today its last price would sit 56th from the cheapest. The closest current bikes on price are the Fat Bob (₹22,96,480) and the Chief Bobber Dark Horse (₹22,86,943); those are the new-bike alternatives to weigh a used Eldorado against.

Engine and ride

Power comes from a 1380cc single producing 93.8 bhp and 120 Nm, paired with a 6 Speed. At 314 kg the power-to-weight figure is 299 bhp per tonne, which ranks 23 of 60 in its class here.

Torque is high relative to peak power, which is what you want for pulling away with a pillion and riding a gear higher in traffic rather than chasing the redline.

Chassis hardware includes dual-channel ABS, with a disc, 320 mm up front and disc, 282 mm at the rear.

Seat height is a low 740 mm, so riders around 5'2" and above can plant both feet at a stop.

Our review

Riding impressions and the buying advice a spec sheet cannot give.

Verdict

The Eldorado was Moto Guzzi's classic cruiser, sold in India from 2015 to 2020 at a last list price of ₹23.2 lakh. It used the same 1380cc V-twin as the Audace, but heavier styling and a 314kg kerb weight left it behind that bike on nearly every measure that matters day to day. It was never a strong seller here, and what shows up used today tends to be priced closer to its siblings than its spec sheet justifies.

Riding it every day

The engine's 93.8bhp and 120Nm behave much like the Audace's, with strong low-end pull that suits Indian traffic, but the extra weight and taller 1460mm height make the Eldorado feel less agile at parking speeds and through tighter corners. No mileage figure was ever quoted, and a big air-cooled twin at this weight is unlikely to be efficient by any modern measure.

What to know before buying

Treat a used Eldorado exactly as you would an Audace or California: check for oil seepage around the cylinder heads, inspect the shaft drive for backlash, and confirm the swingarm bearings have not worn under the bike's weight. Given how few were sold, sourcing a specific replacement part can take longer than for either sibling model.

Who should buy it

Someone drawn specifically to its retro styling who has already priced in a discount versus the Audace, and who has access to a mechanic experienced with air-cooled Guzzi twins. It is not the pick if outright value or daily usability matters more than looks.

Features

  • Dual-channel ABS
  • Front disc brake
  • Rear disc brake
  • Tubeless tyres
  • Engine kill switch

On safety kit the Eldorado has dual-channel abs, front disc brake, rear disc brake and tubeless tyres. Dual-channel ABS is the one item on this list worth paying for if it is variant-dependent.

What it lacks: alloy wheels, side-stand engine cut-off, hazard lamps and led headlamp, which rivals at this price offer. The safety items in that list matter more than the console.

It is offered in 2 colours: Red and Black. Colour availability varies by variant and dealer stock.

Warranty, service and ownership

Standard warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.

Service reach is the weak point: Moto Guzzi has about 15 dealer and workshop touchpoints across the country. Confirm there is one within reach before you sign.

Moto Guzzi sold the Eldorado new from 2015 until 2020, long enough for spares and workshop familiarity to be no problem for years yet. Warranty on a used example depends on what is left of the original term; service intervals and parts pricing are unchanged by the model being withdrawn.

Eldorado: questions people ask

Is the Moto Guzzi Eldorado still available?
No. Moto Guzzi withdrew the Eldorado in 2020 after selling it since 2015. Dealers sometimes hold unregistered stock for a few months after a model goes; after that it is a used buy.
What was the price of the Moto Guzzi Eldorado?
The Eldorado last listed at ₹23,19,661 ex-showroom Delhi in its single variant. Used prices depend on year, mileage and condition; a two- to three-year-old example typically changes hands at 60–75% of that.
What is the engine capacity and power of the Eldorado?
It uses a 1380cc engine producing 93.8 bhp and 120 Nm, with a 6 speed.
Is the Eldorado suitable for short riders?
Yes. Seat height is 740 mm, low for the class, so riders around 5'2" and above can reach the ground comfortably.
Eldorado or Chief Dark Horse: which is better?
The Chief Dark Horse is ₹1,60,882 less expensive to start. Pick the Eldorado for classic cruiser styling, the Chief Dark Horse for highway cruising. Our side-by-side comparison covers every spec.
Which bikes are cheaper than the Eldorado?
Among the 65 cruisers we have reviewed, the Classic 350 (₹1.98 Lakh), the X440 (₹2.35 Lakh), the Perak (₹2.22 Lakh) start lower.
Is the Eldorado still worth buying used given it lagged its siblings when new?
It can make sense if the price reflects that gap and the bike has clean service history, since the engine and running gear are shared with the better-regarded Audace, but a seller should not be pricing it the same as that bike.
What replaced the Eldorado in Moto Guzzi's Indian range?
Moto Guzzi's Indian line-up moved toward the V85 platform after 2020, so there was no direct heavyweight cruiser successor; buyers wanting a similar experience new would need to look at the V85 TT or rival brands' cruisers.
